Expansion is good news. But it is not automatically newsworthy.

That is where many companies get this wrong. They announce growth as if the growth itself is the story. Journalists usually need more. They want to know what changed, who it affects, why it matters now, and what proof supports it.

A strong expansion press release does not say, “We are bigger.” It says, “Here is how this move helps customers, employees, partners, or a local market.”

Whether you are opening a new office, adding a facility, entering a new region, increasing capacity, or hiring in a new market, the release should make the business reason clear.

For a refresher on basic structure, this eReleases guide to press release examples is a helpful place to start.

What Counts as an Expansion Press Release?

An expansion press release announces a meaningful step in company growth. Common examples include:

  • Opening a new office
  • Launching in a new state, city, or country
  • Expanding manufacturing or warehouse capacity
  • Adding a regional operations hub
  • Opening new retail locations
  • Growing a franchise network
  • Hiring employees in a new market
  • Adding service coverage in a region

The key word is “meaningful.” A larger office may matter internally, but a new facility that creates jobs, serves customers faster, or supports product demand has a stronger media angle.

Expansion Press Release Examples

Here are several examples worth studying.

1. New office expansion

DPR Construction announced a new Philadelphia-area office in Radnor, Pennsylvania, to strengthen its Mid-Atlantic presence. The release works because it explains the business reason behind the move: being closer to customers in healthcare, life sciences, advanced technology, higher education, and commercial markets.

What to notice: the release does not stop at “we opened an office.” It connects the office to customers, talent, local partners, and core markets.

2. International market expansion

Century 21 announced the opening of its first United Arab Emirates office, with Dubai serving as a regional headquarters for Middle East operations. This release ties the location to regional growth and the company’s global footprint.

What to notice: international expansion needs context. The release explains why the market matters and who is leading the operation.

3. Manufacturing capacity expansion

American Polymer Company announced the opening of its third manufacturing facility in Pleasanton, Texas. The release frames the facility as more than a building. It supports product expansion, manufacturing strength, and service to customers in utility and infrastructure markets.

What to notice: capacity expansion works best when you include what the added capacity makes possible.

4. Regional operations hub

Ezee Fiber announced a new operations hub in Troy, Michigan, to support its Michigan network expansion. The release includes useful details: 30,000 square feet, office and warehouse space, outdoor storage, and about 50 local jobs expected in 2026 and 2027.

What to notice: numbers help. Square footage, jobs, markets served, and timing make an expansion more concrete.

5. Retail footprint expansion

Wayfair announced a new Princeton, New Jersey store as part of its Northeast footprint expansion. The release includes location details, store size, and why the retail center is a useful fit for shoppers.

What to notice: retail expansion should explain why the location was chosen and what customers can expect.

What to Include in an Expansion Press Release

A good expansion press release should answer these questions quickly:

  • What exactly is expanding?
  • Where is the expansion happening?
  • When does it open, launch, or begin?
  • Why is the company expanding now?
  • Who benefits from the expansion?
  • How many jobs, locations, customers, or markets are involved?
  • What does this say about company momentum?

Do not bury the facts. Put the location, type of expansion, and main benefit in the first paragraph.

ABC Manufacturing Opens New Dallas Facility to Support Southwest Growth

DALLAS, Texas, April 15, 2026 — ABC Manufacturing, a supplier of custom industrial components for food and beverage companies, today announced the opening of its new Dallas production facility. The expansion will help the company serve customers across Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and New Mexico with shorter turnaround times and added production capacity.

The 45,000-square-foot facility includes production space, quality control labs, and regional customer support offices. ABC Manufacturing expects to add 35 employees in Dallas over the next 12 months.

“Customers in the Southwest have asked for faster access to our team and more flexible production schedules,” said Maria Lopez, president of ABC Manufacturing. “This facility gives us the room, people, and equipment to support that growth without asking customers to wait longer.”

The Dallas location is ABC Manufacturing’s third U.S. facility and follows two years of increased demand from regional food processors and packaging partners.

About ABC Manufacturing: ABC Manufacturing provides custom industrial components for food and beverage production companies across the United States. The company is headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, and operates facilities in Ohio, North Carolina, and Texas.

Final Tips Before You Send

Keep the release specific. “We are excited to expand” is not enough. What changed? What can you prove? Who benefits?

Add numbers when you have them. Jobs, square footage, investment, customer reach, production capacity, or timeline can turn a vague announcement into a usable story.

And keep the quote human. A good quote should sound like something a real person would say, not something that escaped from a committee meeting.

Expansion is a sign of momentum. Your job is to show why that momentum matters outside your own company.
