Following the Misadventures of Lt. Loveless in the Nam

Author narrates the engaging story of an unlikely hero in a critical war to be featured in Guadalajara Book Fair on Nov 30, 2013 – Dec 04, 2013 in Guadalajara, Mexico

HONOLULU, Oct. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Are heroes born or are they just lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time?  Readers are about to find out as they follow the adventures of Lt. Loveless in this intriguing and action-packed novel, Loveless in the Nam.

"Despite Loveless's extensive laundry list of faults, Boersema makes his protagonist endearing, mainly through his unflinching honesty on the page and the cheerful charm with which Loveless lives his life… An engagingly flawed protagonist and a grounded sense of reality make Boersema's novel a smooth, fitfully thoughtful entertainment." – Kirkus Reviews

Lt. Frank Loveless is an anti-hero.  He is a craven coward and has an inexplicable ability to bed any woman he wants.  Due to incredible luck, he seems to always land on his feet and come out of every situation, no matter how dire it is – and still being awarded yet another medal and honor.  Readers get to accompany him in his combat adventures – or misadventures – in this novel that's unlike other sober fiction or serious memoir about the Vietnam War.

Although it revolves around a serious war, it doesn't go on revealing a deep message of good vs. evil or making a mature man out of the events he encountered.  Readers will find out how a self-centered screwball is thrown into the jungles of war but still gets away with it, every time, and how he escapes all this mess in this engaging read.
