Zcapture Is Creating ‘a Revolution in Imagery’ with the Help of the Kickstarter Community

SALT LAKE CITY, Aug. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Utah-based Zcapture LLC has launched a Kickstarter to bring "a revolution in imagery" to the public with an innovative 360 Photography system aimed at creating rich interactive content for the web.

Zcapture has already successfully raised 21% of their funding goal in only 6 days of the Kickstarter funding. Zcapture launched its campaign in August to augment the funding of its venture to providing a low-cost high-quality photography product to the market. Unlike private equity however, the Kickstarter platform is a way to achieve "buy in" from a future community of technology adopters.

Kickstarter is a crowd-funding website that offers new businesses a platform to solicit donations for specific projects. A goal and a time frame are set. If a project doesn't raise its financial goal by the end of its allotted time, all donations are refunded. Only 43% of Kickstarter campaigns succeed.

The device is positively "disruptive" to an emerging industry of 360 driven content creation. Zcapture has intentionally been designed to shake up the industry and illustrate a better way of doing things while providing information in a user-centric medium at a price point that makes sense (and is way below the competitors).

With open source technology at its heart and community input for features and functionality driving its evolution and design, the Zcapture customer base has a rare opportunity to shape a product in a way that most companies would never conceive of. "We actually listen to the needs people have and innovate and integrate features to better serve everyone."

The Zcapture system consists of three main components, a hardware platform, software editing suite, and HTML components. With ease of use at the heart of its design this allows you to easily go from object to website in as little as 15 minutes. "With intuitive controls so that just about anyone can set-up, connect and shoot amazing 360 shots."

Unlike many Kickstarter projects, however, the Zcapture system has been in production use in an actual studio for over a year seeing daily use for clients like Raskullz, Franklin Covey and Foster Grant. "The technology has been proven in real-world use when the stakes are high and the clients are noteworthy."
