PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 23, 2010 — Western Graphics & Data, an IGH Solutions company, has introduced a specially developed tamper-evident label, capable of self-destructing at a minimal attempt of removal. This patent-pending label provides an additional level of protection for prepaid card packages by signaling when a package has been forced or opened.
The security label is made by using multiple layers of various materials, which together form a solid construction capable of showing evidence of having been reapplied or resealed. "It adds security in plain sight to prepaid secure packages, not only as a seal but it also can be used as a substitute for the scratch-off label; it is an additional method to protect sensitive data," said Michelle Lamothe, product manager for card services at IGH Solutions.
Other product applications for this label include a stored value card and carrier system, in which the label is firmly adhered to the stored value card and at least a portion of the carrier. The security label is capable of indicating removal of the stored value card from the carrier. There are also custom options for the type of foil component and printing on the label.
