Expanded technology in secure card personalization supports industry move toward speedier data imaging process
PORTLAND, Ore., March 11, 2010 — Western Graphics & Data, an IGH Solutions company, has been approved by Visa, MasterCard, and Discover to provide card personalization and encoding services. These new certifications are in addition to previous approvals which certified Western to package, ship, and store Visa, MasterCard, and Discover card products.
At the same time, Western has recently added the availability of Duplex Drop-on-Demand (DoD) imaging services – the newest technology in data imaging for prepaid cards. Having achieved Visa, MasterCard, and Discover certification for card personalization, Western's new capability will dramatically increase the speed in the personalization process for prepaid open-loop cards in comparison to traditional thermal or embossed personalization. "This means increased flexibility for our customers with uncompromised quality and the highest degree of accuracy," said Scott Mitton, General Manager at Western Graphics & Data.
Through the consolidation of services through one personalization and packaging provider, this new technology allows for better quality control and less manufacturing costs due to errors or delays in the supply chain. Additionally, the versatility of this capability can be employed in new applications in direct mail, loyalty programs, and traditional closed-loop cards.
