West Palm Beach Publishing House in the Running for National Innovation Award

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., July 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Book publisher StarGroup International has been nominated for a national award—Publishing Innovator of the Year.

The award, which is presented annually by Publishing Executive and Book Business, honors and celebrates leadership and innovation in the rapidly evolving magazine and book publishing industries.

West Palm Beach-based StarGroup International was nominated by one of its distinguished authors, Palm Beach artist and writer Sandra Thompson. Her book, "Palm Beach: A Retrospective," published by StarGroup, was a finalist in the 2012 INDIE book awards in the Best Overall Design category. The coffee table book showcases her 24 year artistic love affair with the town of Palm Beach.

Ms. Thompson said, "I nominated StarGroup because I have been impressed with the professionalism, thoroughness, and expertise of Brenda Star and her company."

Brenda Star commented, "I'm thrilled to be in the running for such a prestigious award. It is always an honor when a company's work is recognized by its peers. We have a great team that makes extraordinary contributions to every book we produce."

StarGroup International specializes in creating books to be used as marketing and media and fund raising tools. For over two decades the company has maintained a roster of high-caliber researchers, writers, editors, proofreaders, designers and printers, among the best in the industry. The company also provides public relations and marketing services.

Recently published books include "Pam Beach Faces and Places" (partially underwritten by The Breakers), and the 50th anniversary book for Nova Southeastern University. The company has published numerous books including those for Tampa Bay Rays founder, Vince Naimoli and renowned artists Bruce Helander and Edna Hibel.

This year's honorees for the Publishing Innovator of the Year award will be recognized on September 23, 2013, during a special VIP reception at the Publishing Business Conference & Expo (PBC) in New York billed as "the nation's largest gathering of publishing minds."
