Wavien, Inc. Licenses Dual Paraboloid Reflector Technology to TaYih Industrial Co., Ltd. of Taiwan for Search Light Applications

VALENCIA, Calif., Aug. 31, 2010 — Wavien and TaYih today announced that TaYih Industrial Co., Ltd. has licensed Wavien's Dual Paraboloid Reflector (DPR(TM)) technology for use in ultra-narrow beam, high output search lights. This new search light design produces a high intensity, narrow beam of light while extending lamp lifetime to provide virtually maintenance-free operation. Wavien continues to optimize the system performance and plans to expand the technology into spotlight and graphic projection systems.

"Wavien's DPR technology offers a longer lamp lifetime and significantly improved and maintained brightness with higher efficiency in search light applications when used with ultra high pressure mercury lamp from qualified vendors," stated Dr. Kenneth Li, President and CEO of Wavien, Inc., who is also the inventor of the technology. "This patented DPR technology enables ultra-narrow and bright beams to be generated where reliable and trouble-free operation is essential, such as for law enforcement, military, and search and rescue purposes," Dr. Li added.

"Search lights used in police, military and other law enforcement agencies and require high brightness, narrow beam, and long life operations. However, none of the existing commercial products provide all the desired features as readily as Wavien's unique DPR technology. When I saw the prototype of Wavien's searchlight, I immediately realized its potential. TaYih products based on this technology will serve the current market and create a brand new market," stated Mr. Huang, President of TaYih Industrial Co., Ltd.
