Dr. Paul Zak, a featured speaker, is founding Director of the Center for Neuroeconomics Studies at Claremont Graduate University.  His team is responsible for discoveries of the financial implications of a neurohormone called oxytocin, which drives feelings of trust and love.  Zak will present his latest research on the neuroscience of high performing teams.

"The latest neuroscience provides powerful insights for business leaders, and all of us," Zak explains. "Our research shows that applying this science in a practical way produces significant value for individuals, businesses, and society.  This is data everyone needs." See http://www.eventbrite.com/event/5548630102 for Zak's presentation.

Another featured neuroscientist is Dr. Aron Barbey, Director of the Decision Neuroscience Lab at the University of Illinois.  His recent groundbreaking paper is the first to map the brain networks for emotional intelligence. The new findings help elucidate the neural foundations of human intelligence and suggest that emotional and cognitive intelligence may emerge from similar brain networks. Barbey's session is http://www.eventbrite.com/event/5523432736.

The festival includes over 20 different webinars, plus a library of free articles, ebooks and resources, including daily podcasts from author Daniel Goleman, who brought the subject of EQ to popular awareness with his 1995 book, Emotional Intelligence: Why it Can Matter More than IQ.

The eWeek festival is also the kickoff event for the NexusEQ Conference at Harvard University in June (www.NexusEQ.com).  The 7th international NexusEQ conference, the program blends top experts in neuroscience, leadership, and learning to use emotions to spark positive change.  Business and education change makers will attend from around the globe.

Both events are organized by Six Seconds, a 501(c)3 nonprofit incorporated in 1997.  Six Seconds is the world's largest network of emotional intelligence experts with offices in 10 counties, and certified trainers in over 70.  Six Seconds' purpose is to support people to create positive change, everywhere, all the time.  Visit www.6seconds.org for information.
