Valparaiso University Launches 100% Online Master of Science in Health Management and Policy Degree

One-of-a-kind health care leadership degree gives health professionals essential skills to lead in today's growing health care field.

TAMPA, Fla., Sept. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Continuing its 150-year tradition of educating and training dynamic leaders, Valparaiso University — ranked in the top 10 by U.S. News & World Report as a Best Midwestern Regional College — will now set the standard for health care graduate programs with its Master of Science in Health Management and Policy – 100% online.

Via streaming, video-based lectures and an interactive virtual community, Valpo's program will allow health professionals to add graduate credentials with an in-demand specialization to their resumes in as little as 24 months. Graduate students will explore complex policy, business, management, and information issues with a focus on ethical leadership and process improvement.

"Unlike traditional business degrees, Valpo is the only graduate school that offers a blending of policy, management and values-based ethics with four in-demand specializations to choose from: Strategic Decision Making, Health Informatics, Forensic Health and Gerontology," said David Rowland, Ph.D., Associate Provost and Dean of the Graduate School.

In today's changing health care environment, Valpo's highly relevant and ground-breaking graduate program will give students the skills, credentials and expertise to lead the change in health care, in their careers and on a policy level, explained Adrian Marrullier, Executive Vice President of Enrollment Services and Marketing for the University Alliance.

"We are excited to be working with such a distinguished university and pleased to offer a targeted program that prepares students for leadership roles that include, Medical Care Administrator, Public Policy Director and many more," Marrullier said.

Valpo's graduate program is powered by University Alliance, a leading facilitator of e-learning in the United States.
