Emily Martinac will receive significant savings on tuition while advancing her teaching career.
TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — The University of Scranton, a U.S. News & World Report-ranked university, is pleased to announce Emily Martinac as a Bisk Foundation Teacher Education Scholarship winner for the Special Fall 2013, Part B session.
The scholarship will provide Martinac, of Marion, Mississippi, with 25% savings on tuition through her graduation from the regionally accredited university, where she is a first-time student in the Master of Science (MS) in Curriculum and Instruction program, which is offered 100% online.
Martinac seeks to make a connection with each of her elementary school students, helping them realize the importance of a strong educational foundation. She implemented creative teaching methods, and focused her students on the importance of respecting themselves and each other. As a result, Martinac witnessed a turnaround in her students' attitudes and enthusiasm for learning.
Supervisors note Martinac's ability to help her students mature while holding them accountable in a nurturing way.
