"Transforming Philanthropy Through Collaboration" Is Theme of 2013 Advisors in Philanthropy Conference

Cokie Roberts to Deliver Keynote Speech: "Trends in Philanthropy"

CHICAGO, March 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — This may be one of the few times that what happens in Vegas will not stay in Vegas. From April 24, 2013 to April 26, 2013, one of the most inspiring philanthropic conferences will take place at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas, after which attendees will take what they learn and, in turn, help thousands of generous people around the country effectively give money away to deserving charities.

Hosted by The International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy, the leading global forum for top professional advisors, non-profit and NGO leaders, this powerful, thought provoking annual conference caters to its members and others who are dedicated and inspired to teach and empower their clients and donors to effectively direct their philanthropic resources consistent with their deepest values for greatest impact.

"The 2013 AiP Philanthropy Conference is the must attend Philanthropy Conference of the year for Advisors who want to share ideas with the most respected and provocative thinkers in the non-profit community," said Enzo Calamo, Co-President of The International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy.

Some 400 attendees will represent a wide array of professional disciplines including financial advisors, estate planners, legacy wealth coaches, philanthropic advisors, and nonprofit development directors and major gift officers.

"These attendees all have an interest in learning how to work with and connect to their clients or donors at a deeper, more meaningful level by connecting with their passion, values and heart's desires to give back, make a difference and create a legacy," he said.

Each year, attendees remark how this conference fosters an unforgettable, empowering and caring networking environment among philanthropic peers they have ever before experienced at any other conference.

The robust conference schedule begins with an inspirational message about "Trends in Philanthropy" from Cokie Roberts, ABC News Political Commentator and Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of Save the Children.

Attendees will have the opportunity to work with a local charity to learn more about the issues facing that community as well as design their learning experience by choosing from a diverse lineup of speakers in four separate tracks including a Legacy, Collaboration, Advanced Technical and Faith Based Philanthropy.

"Our goal is to make our 2013 Philanthropy Conference both educational and empowering to attendees. We wanted to make the Conference more of an experience. A charitable Poker tournament, multiple networking receptions, and the Fithian Award dinner will be just some of the events that attendees will enjoy," said Natalia Kabbe, Co-President of The International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy.
