Tokyo Electron Presents Results of Kextil Pilot at Technology Services World

Kextil's speech recognition based field service application addresses key compliance goals

PITTSBURGH, Pa., Jan. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Global field service organizations have been demanding a solution that can provide a detailed understanding of the work performed by the field. To date this has been impossible, as the time required to capture detailed documentation prevents the field from meeting ever tightening response times. Now, Kextil (http://www.kextil.com/) eliminates this trade off.

Kextil Corp., the leading provider of intelligent voice driven solutions for the Field Services Market, and Tokyo Electron, a leading supplier for the semiconductor industry recently presented the results of a successful pilot project at Technology Services World, the service industry's largest conference.

Key results demonstrated that Kextil:

  • Eliminates the time required to capture service results
  • Reduces errors by improving the field's ability to comply with best operational and safety practices
  • Provides rich and previously unavailable analytic insight into field performance

"The Kextil solution can be a game changer in the field service world," said Ed McMurray, Director of Field Service Operations for Tokyo Electron America (TEA). "We are continually looking to improve the quality of information we capture from field events and at the same time we need to respond to increasing demands on response time and quality compliance from our customers. Kextil stands alone in its ability to address all of these needs."

Kextil's vAdmin, vKnow and SuperVisor modules utilize a proprietary speech recognition based interface to enable real time information capture and real time information access. The solution can be integrated to existing enterprise applications to create a high degree of leverage from existing IT investment.

"Companies across the field service world are recognizing the financial and operational benefit of eliminating barriers to information flow between the field and the enterprise, says Jonathan Berman, CEO, Kextil. "The key is maximizing this information flow while the field technician is delivering service work. We are thrilled to be working with Tokyo Electron America in proving out a set of benefits that has been beyond the reach of global field organizations."

Tokyo Electron, along with Kextil, will be scaling up the pilot at one of the semiconductor equipment manufacturer's leading customers. "We have shown the solution will work in our challenging service environment, the next stage is to quantify the benefits," said McMurray.
