SEATTLE, Nov. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Threshold Group, a leading family-owned wealth management firm and family office, is pleased to announce an expansion of dedicated professionals to its Community Square offering.

About Community Square

Inspired by families searching for meaningful conversations and deeper connections with like-minded individuals, Threshold Group's Community Square helps high-net-worth families manage a widening range of pressing social and human issues that accompany wealth. Community Square is a collaborative forum and educational resource for Threshold clients, friends, and colleagues. A peer-driven community for learning and exploration, Community Square also provides an opportunity for families to connect with top experts, visionaries and innovators about topics such as parenting, philanthropy, and investing.

Kristen Powers Bauer takes on Executive Director role for Community Square

"I am inspired by our client families. They are smart, thoughtful individuals and we are here to help them become connected and empowered through Community Square," said Bauer of her expanded role.

From Ed Lazar and Kristen Bauer

"For many families of affluence, the toughest challenges today are less about wealth and more about well-being," said Ed Lazar, President of Threshold Group. "Knowing that no one person has all the answers to these complex issues, we felt that bringing our client families together with experts to share, explore and engage in conversations might help our families navigate these difficult waters. Many of the families we partner with feel like they are alone in dealing with these issues.  By bringing them together, not only do they realize they are not alone in their journey, but they learn that many other families face similar issues with similar concerns.  Sometimes the conversation between families in a non-threatening environment is where the real learning develops."

"Community Square is about creating a holistic, collective impact," said Kristen Bauer, Senior Managing Director and Executive Director of Community Square. "Our clients learn from one another; advisory organizations learn from one another; families learn from experts, and in return, experts learn from families. Our end game is to raise the overall level of competence and confidence among all families of wealth, and specifically our clients."

Threshold will be hosting a number of Community Square events in Seattle, Philadelphia, and Portland in 2014. For more information, please call 206.748.3684.
