Theological Thriller 'Forgotten Word' Follows the Exploits of Detective Zena McGrath as She Stumbles Upon a Vatican Conspiracy of Earth-Shattering Proportions

Sam Jane Brown's first novel, corresponding with recent news headlines, tautly weaves elements of Western religious philosophy, procedural crime-solving and the supernatural into action-packed tale

MANCHESTER, England, April 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Author Sam Jane Brown's debut fictional thriller-mystery, titled Forgotten Word, is now available for purchase via Amazon.com.

"Writing this book was truly a transformative experience and I'm delighted that it's now available to readers. It's truly a one-of-a-kind novel, as it integrates Western religious precepts to a fair degree. I expect that many readers may find some of the theories presented in the novel to be thought provoking and evocative. But I can guarantee it will be filled with action – a can't-put-it-down read!" explained UK-based author Sam Jane Brown, whose book release just happened to coincide with an array of news happenings in the Vatican, where a new pope, Pope Francis, took to the helm last month on 13 March, 2013.

Forgotten Word is Brown's first novel. Inspiration for the novel came from a transformative year-long bible study session. It was this experience that deeply affected and empowered Brown, providing her with the initial idea for the novel's storyline.

The novel blends suspense, action and some unexpected twists and turns in a book that's sure to appeal to fans of authors such as Dan Brown. Forgotten Word traces the life of Zena McGrath, a detective with an international police force, who is investigating the death of an Irish priest at the Vatican. This unusual death comes as the latest in a chain of unexpected events that have claimed the life of multiple Catholic priests.

Vatican officials insist the priests' deaths are the result of natural causes, but that claim is turned on its head when Zena joins forces with Cardinal Donatello. A mysterious character, Cardinal Donatello discloses a telling fact: all of the deceased clergy members were involved in exorcisms. It's an admission that ultimately plunges Zena into an unfamiliar world, where the forces of good and evil jockey for control.

Cardinal Donatello leads Zena to a Catholic priest who's said to be possessed by evil spirits and it's there where she finally comes to understand the full gravity of the situation – a situation that Cardinal Donatello begs her to leave in the hands of the Vatican.

But the game changes when yet another priest turns up dead in New York City. Zena rushes to the scene, only to realize that she's being dogged by a dark and evil presence. Zena ultimately returns to the Vatican where she comes face to face with the battle between good and evil, and a world filled with Satanic worship.

The word spreads across the globe and soon Zena finds herself amidst an unfamiliar world that's the setting of a revolutionary firestorm, where societies are pushing to do away with religion entirely. Zena is ultimately driven to the Holy Land in search of insight, answers and peace.

Forgotten Word takes the reader on an intense series of twists and turns that will make it virtually impossible for readers to put it down!

Brown, who also works for a UK airline in addition to working as a businesswoman on the side, is currently penning her second novel.

Forgotten Word is now available on Amazon.com in paperback for $12.38. An e-book version for Kindle is available for $3.50.
