BICHENO, Australia, March 24, 2009 — Currently there is widespread interest in human paranormal abilities in film, TV and books. For most it is simply enjoyable fantasy, whereas there are masters from the great spiritual traditions who do indeed have unusual abilities. Now is a good time to interpret their esoteric works in a novel style that appeals to an audience beyond ivory academia and the silent halls of meditation.
What training would you give a child in order to master the art of life — to attain that flowing style of existence that slides around the rocks of fate with minimal perturbance, and even experiences exhilaration tumbling through the cataracts? This unusual book is a bildungsroman that describes such an eclectic and esoteric education designed by a succession of adepts. It has been commended by world authorities in the field including Professors Roger Walsh and Jim Fadiman.
“The Training of a Dragon Master” by Dr. Earl Dorney (published by iUniverse) is an epic adventure which explores the search for successful action and blissful being. The spirit of the boy is forged in the blazing Australian desert by his grandfather a powerful aboriginal shaman. Tomas Redven, an eccentric European philosopher, unfolds the path of the Western intellectual in the polished halls of an urban university. The beloved Persephone, a disciple of the Aesthetic Path, leads him through the flower-strewn valleys of Romantic Love. Mastery of the Existential Leap in the Path of Action is taught by a disillusioned SAS warrior, Mike Rogers. Amid the icy treachery of formidable mountains and the immense oceans of consciousness, a Mongolian Qi Gong Master, Dorgan Khan, unveils the true purpose and power of deep meditation. Tossed by the Dragon’s breath into a life of tumult, storm and fire, Pannaga’s human spirit ignites and becomes the pure projection of the Dragon itself.
