CHICAGO, May 29, 2008 — The Society of Decorating Professionals (The SDP) announces a newly formed partnership in education with the Custom Home Furnishings Industry (CHF) in Charlotte, North Carolina.
"We are excited to announce this first-of-its-kind industry partnership," said SDP co-founder, JoAnne Lenart-Weary. "Our organization is honored to have been tapped as a CHF partner in education. The SDP's caliber of education and level of membership expertise and credibility is certainly validated with this honor bestowed on us by the CHF."
The CHF mission is to supply quality education and address issues facing workroom and window treatment professionals. The new partnership is designed to meet membership needs. "In the last few years we have received an increasing number of requests from members for more programs geared to the decorating side of the business," said CHF President Margie Nance. "After an extensive review of the various programs around the country, we decided a partnership with The SDP was the absolute best way to meet our needs." Like CHF, The SDP offers programs that provide experiential or hands-on opportunity to learn with real decorating challenges to reinforce learning and foster confidence. Each class of The SDP will now also qualify for the Career Professional Program as well as certification through The SDP and Window Fashions WFCP program. The decorating world has been taken by storm with a variety of decorating specialties such as interior redesign, real estate staging, and color, which all members of The SDP are certified to offer. These services are a great addition to the conventional decorating and design services offered by most members.
Courses offered by The SDP Certified Professional Trainers also carry credentialing from the International Association of Continuing Education (IACET). The SDP is the only decorating association in the world that has undergone the rigorous process of achieving the status of IACET Authorized Provider of CEU in the areas of Decorating, Redesign, Staging, and the patent-pending Color with No Regrets Selection System.
