CAPE CORAL, Fla., June 4, 2009 — “The Apostate Theory” (published by AuthorHouse), the new book from Mr. Pat, takes a look at how the election of a U.S. President with Muslim heritage has given Islamic extremism the recruitment tool to expand its ranks.
The activity of radical Islam has been in the American crosshairs since the tragedy of Sept. 11, 2001 and yet, little progress has been made in abating the threat of terrorism. Most recently, Pakistan has become the central focus amongst potential threats to America’s security. Mr. Pat lends a refreshing new voice to the national discussion of how exactly the election of the new U.S. president will affect and likely increase the presence of Islamic extremism from Pakistan.
Historian Patrick Roelle goes by the pen name “Mr. Pat” and has spent over 25 years studying different facets of the Muslim faith in several Middle Eastern countries. In his new book, “The Apostate Theory,” he creatively dissects how American efforts to eradicate radical Islam activity have failed. He also explains how the election of the new American president who has denounced his father’s Muslim faith is a threat to American security.
Mr. Pat first encountered Islam in the 1980s while working in Cairo, Egypt, as a construction manager. While there, he penned his first book “Project Egypt: A Politically Incorrect View” (also published by AuthorHouse), which reflects upon his attempts at assimilation into the Muslim world. He went on to author three other books regarding Islamic culture with “The Apostate Theory” being his most recent release.
Pakistan has a population of close to 200 million. It is 97 percent Muslim. Al-Queda is in control of the Taliban, based in the tribal regions under the protection of the government. The Taliban is rife with militants pushing for control and Al-Queda’s goal is to export the violence to America. If only 10 percent of 10 percent of the population of Pakistan is Taliban – that’s two million. Reports coming out of Pakistan during April and May of 2009 about the Pakistani military success in killing 500 Taliban was simply a show to encourage American politicians and to bolster Pakistan’s leverage to entice more aid from the Obama Administration. It’s working. The Pakistan prime minister and the Afghanistan left the oval office last week with grins on their faces after being promised billions more in additional U.S. aid.
