ELGIN, Ill., June 1, 2007 — For millions of men and women tired of being overweight, discovering what type of body they have can be the first step in a lasting weight loss effort. Dr. Sergei Lipov, an internal medicine specialist, describes five basic body types - along with his Animals(TM) Weight Control System - in a uniquely titled book, "…but it IS about your BUTT."
"While that may be an unusual title for a book about weight control," admits Dr. Lipov, "people who’ve read it say it’s appropriate. That," he adds, "is because the book explains why the type of body a person has - as indicated in part by the size of his or her butt - determines what he or she should do to lose weight."
As an internist for more than 20 years, Dr. Lipov is frequently called on by other medical professionals to help solve difficult diagnostic problems. Several years ago, when he noticed that an increasing number of difficult diagnoses involved overweight or obese patients, he began the research that led to the Animals Weight Control System.
More than just a theory, many of Dr. Lipov’s patients have successfully lost weight by following his Animals system. Some, including Grace, lost more than 200 pounds. "At 45, I’ve been given my life back again," says Grace of her experience with the Animals Weight Control System. Neither Grace nor any of Dr. Lipov’s other patients who continue to follow the Animals system have regained their lost pounds.
The Animals Weight Control System identifies five basic human shapes or body types. Dr. Lipov named those body types after animals with similar shapes - the Bear, Kangaroo, Wolf, Owl and Monkey. "What makes the Animal Weight Control System easy to understand," explains the doctor, "is how closely the shapes of those five animals correspond to the basic shapes of most human bodies."
But comparisons between humans and the Bear, Kangaroo, Wolf, Owl and Monkey don’t end with body types. The animals after which Dr. Lipov named his human body types eat the same kinds of food as do humans with similar body types. "Bears," explains the doctor, "are omnivores that eat almost anything. Humans with bear-like bodies do the same. Wolves," he adds, "are carnivores that prefer meat. So do humans with wolf-type bodies.
"Strangely enough," explains Dr. Lipov, "the size of a person’s butt is a primary indicator of his or her body type, a sign of which animal he or she resembles and which type of foods he or she should eat to control their weight."
The Animals Weight Control System does not require pre-packaged foods, pills, supplements, or special recipes. In easy-to-understand language, plus more than 100 illustrations, "…but it IS about your BUTT" serves much like a captivating road map, taking the reader comfortably from one fascinating aspect of weight control to another. And along the way, Dr. Lipov dispels a number of myths, replacing them with what some say may be a major breakthrough for millions of overweight people.
Among the myths Dr. Lipov puts to rest are the ideas that merely exercising more or eating less will lead to weight loss. He also explains why at times it makes sense to eat dessert before you eat your meal, and why white or sweet carbohydrates are taboo for people looking to lose their excess pounds.
