Student Visitors to Madison-Kipp Corporation Gain Firsthand Look at Manufacturing

Tour of Madison, Wisconsin facility is part of company's National Manufacturing Day celebration

MADISON, Wis., Oct. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — As part of National Manufacturing Day activities, Madison-Kipp Corporation(http://www.madison-kipp.com/) will offer nearly 100 students from Madison's La Follette and East High Schools an opportunity to see first hand the tremendous career opportunities offered by manufacturing.

During their tour of Madison-Kipp, students will see 21st century manufacturing in action. Madison-Kipp's experienced workforce utilizes state-of-the-art technology and engineering in a clean, safe environment to produce components used by a wide variety of industry sectors. Students will also learn about lifelong career pathways within manufacturing with the assistance of Madison-Kipp employees and Madison College representatives who will be on hand to explain about the available options and answer any questions.

This year's National Day of Manufacturing is October 4 and is part of a nationwide recognition of the contributions of manufacturing, as well as state commemorations of the importance of manufacturing to Wisconsin's economy. The Department of Workforce Development (DWD) is collaborating with various state agencies and organizations, including the Wisconsin Technical College System and Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce to showcase the significant contribution manufacturing makes to current and long-term economic stability. According to the DWD, Wisconsin manufacturing contributes $50 billion to the state's economy and employs nearly 450,000 workers statewide.
