Top Deals and Professionals Honored Before Sell-Out Crowd
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., July 1, 2011 — The M&A Advisor and ACG New York revealed the winners in 25 different categories for the Inaugural ACG New York Champion's Awards at a sold-out gala dinner at Sotheby's New York. Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth, along with Marlin & Associates, was recognized for Strategic Acquisition of the Year, in the sale of iSuppli Corporation to IHS, Inc. The Master of Ceremonies, Durant D. "Randy" Schwimmer, Editor and Publisher of "On the Left" financial newsletter, helped recognize the outstanding achievements in the middle market M&A industry in the New York Region.
An independent body of experts, who represent a cross-section of the middle market industry, judged the finalists' deals, deal makers and firms.
"The ACG New York Champion's Awards winners represent the best of M&A in the New York area in 2011, and Stradling earned these honors by distinguishing themselves in a group of very impressive finalists," said Roger Aguinaldo, CEO of the M&A Advisor. "This was an interesting transaction for many reasons, including the fact that we had to close the acquisition by iSuppli of U.K.-based Screen Digest immediately prior to the sale of iSuppli to IHS, a global market intelligence leader," said Stradling Shareholder Chris Ivey. "In addition, as a Cayman Islands corporation, we had to comply with the corporate laws of the Cayman Islands, which differ from U.S.-based corporate laws. The acquisition further solidifies IHS' global presence in the technology research and advisory services space."
To qualify, the finalists' transactions had to close between April 1, 2010 and March 30, 2011 and be over $5 million in transaction value. Firms executing the transactions would have offices located in the New York region.
