Sonoma County Wineries Partner with Cellar Angels for Online Wine Charity Event

A wine-buying opportunity that will alter a life and change the world

CHICAGO, Sept. 6, 2011 — If you've ever raised a glass to toast "Good times, peace on earth and good will towards men," a new opportunity will allow your toast to immediately take action. When you purchase wine via Cellar Angels during these events you get to select which charity receives portions of proceeds and the donations go right to work.

Cellar Angels (http://www.cellarangels.com), a unique wine-philanthropy group, is partnering with Michel-Schlumberger and Humanitas Wines to raise money for their charity partners. Each online event lasts five days and is offered to members of Cellar Angels. The first event begins today, September 6, 2011, and will feature Humanitas, and Michel-Schlumberger's event will begin September 13, 2011. Membership in Cellar Angels is free and available at http://www.cellarangels.com

"When you meet Judd Wallenbrock, the founder of Humanitas, learn his history and see all he's accomplished, especially Humanitas, you are instantly moved to help," said Martin Cody, President of Cellar Angels. "He knows every facet of the wine industry from viticulture through production, distribution through sales and is an expert in hospitality. It was inevitable our paths would cross and we're honored to feature these wines for our members and both our charity partners."

Humanitas is a unique winery with a very compelling story. Simply, they make wine, sell it and give the profits to charity. First and foremost they are about the wines. All of the wines are born of personal inspiration and sourced from meticulously maintained vineyard blocks. Each Humanitas wine tells a story and when purchased allows both winery and consumers to do something good for the world.

"Humanitas was founded 10 years ago with a vision to make the world a better place through wine. Cellar Angels and Humanitas are like twins from a parallel universe – both out to help folks 'drink charitably,' one sip at a time," commented Judd Wallenbrock, Founder of Humanitas.

Beginning September 13, Cellar Angels will feature picturesque Michel-Schlumberger.

Cellar Angels works exclusively with Sonoma and Napa wineries to offer its members highly rated wines at a significant discount. Each week Cellar Angels members receive a private email alerting them to that week's offer. The email also provides tasting notes, a food-pairing recipe often provided by a guest chef and a custom behind-the-scenes video of the winemaker and winery.

In featuring Michel-Schlumberger, Cellar Angels members are gaining access to a truly unique terroir blessed winery. This winery's stunning topography and numerous microclimates produce exceptional Bordeaux-inspired wines with amazing finesse.

"There is really no place on Earth quite like Michel-Schlumberger – a 100-acre, organically farmed benchland Estate nestled in a natural amphitheater high above Dry Creek Valley," said Wallenbrock. "It is off the beaten trail, but well worth the visit."
