SolarMetric to Introduce Kodo for EJB 3

Preview Implementation of EJB 3 Persistence Specification to be Highlighted at JavaONE 2005

AUSTIN, Texas, June 23, 2005 — SolarMetric, makers of the Kodo product line, the leading standards-based, enterprise-quality object/relational mapping tools, will introduce Kodo for EJB 3 with support for the forthcoming Enterprise Java Beans 3.0 Persistence specification at the JavaONE 2005 conference in San Francisco, California from June 27th to June 30th. Kodo for EJB 3 and the award-winning Kodo JDO will be highlighted at the SolarMetric Booth, #301 in the JavaONE Pavilion.

JavaONE, Sun's Worldwide Java Developer Conference, is the definitive global gathering for over 15,000 developers from 59 countries who are seeking best-in-class Java-based technology. Java, now ten years old, is used by over three million developers and all Fortune 500 organizations.

At the show, SolarMetric's CTO, Patrick Linskey, will be presenting at three sessions:

-- "The New EJB(TM) 3.0 Persistence API" with EJB 3
specification lead, Linda DeMichiel, and others

-- "Java(TM) Data Objects in Action" with JDO specification
    lead, Craig Russell

-- "EJB(TM) 3.0" BOF with DeMichiel

The EJB 3 specification is one of the key components in J2EE 5.0 and was designed to simplify development and improve productivity. As an active member of the EJB specification team, SolarMetric encourages the Java community to download Kodo for EJB 3 and provide feedback to help ensure that EJB 3 meets the needs of the community as a whole.

"Since our inception, SolarMetric has focused on developer productivity and reduced software cost through standards-based persistence solutions. Kodo is the high performance, scalable, flexible O/R mapping core that is the basis for our products, Kodo JDO and for Kodo for EJB 3," said Neelan Choksi, president of SolarMetric. "Developers using the Kodo product suite will be able to leverage both the EJB 3 specification and the JDO2 specification, employing the best of both worlds side-by-side. JavaONE is a great venue for us to showcase our interoperability strategy."

Kodo JDO Enterprise Edition is currently available for purchase $3750 per named developer with no run-time royalties or fees, and Kodo for EJB 3 is available in pre-release form to gather feedback for the EJB 3 specification team.
