Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Sensei Ben Wittich Joins REMCON Plastics

READING, Pa., Jan. 31, 2011 — Rotational molder REMCON Plastics is already seeing process reduction times in their plant from the Continuous Improvement Team organized under the leadership of new hire Benjamin F. Wittich.

Ben's primary assignment is to champion REMCON's Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement Initiatives. He will formalize a system for operational cost savings and build active teams to sustain a strong, lean culture within the Remcon workforce.

According to COO Rich Maguire, "Ben adds the focus we need to maximize the savings and value added improvements we know can be had with consistent and dedicated attention. These programs don't take hold in your culture on their own. They need a champion. We're confident Ben will be ours and lead us to amazing levels of productivity and throughput."

Wittich graduated from Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Pa., where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Supply Chain and Information Systems. He also has completed advanced Project Management, Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Lean Sensei training at Villanova University.

He was formerly employed by Penske Truck Leasing and Penske Logistics where he eliminated inefficiencies in the billing system and ran pre-billing quality control checks to ensure accurate billing. He and his team were also responsible for moving Pepsi freight throughout the US and ensuring efficient delivery patterns using sophisticated i2 Freight Management Software.
