New Series of Three Childhood Vaccination Actionplans from Fitango Put Disease Prevention First

NEW YORK, April 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — To support the government's new health reform regulations and busy parents everywhere, collaborative e-health platform Fitango is releasing a new series of Preventative Actionplans dedicated to childhood vaccinations. The three-part plan covers vaccinations from infancy to young adulthood, with "Tracking Your Child's Vaccinations (0 – 2)" being followed by "Tracking Your Child's Vaccinations (4 – 6)" and "Tracking Your Child's Vaccinations (7 – 18)."

These Actionplans, created by Fitango's team of health experts and writers, are the first step in a month-long Fitango focus on preventative care. This initiative is an expression of the strong value Fitango places on prevention. It also demonstrates the platform's focus on helping Accountable Care Organizations to establish a continuum of preventative and adherence measures, along with actionable, measurable and interactive follow up with their patients, to meet the health reform's new quality measures.

"Prevention is one of Fitango's core values," says Fitango founder and CEO Dr. Dov Biran. "75% of all healthcare costs go toward dealing with preventable illness. The Fitango revolution in American health starts with teaching people to stay well. These Actionplans will teach Americans to start thinking of prevention as a task that begins on the day you're born. They also demonstrate Fitango's embrace of the changes caused by the health reform, and its commitment to helping organizations meet the standards and measures now required."

Each Actionplan is an interactive combination of tips and trackers, explaining what each vaccination does, why it matters, and when to get it. Users will also be able to record the reactions of their children with journaling and photo uploads, so that they'll know which issues to bring up with their pediatrician at the next check-up, and invite family and friends as "motivators" who can send reminders and keep them on track.

Fitango's Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Nathalie Bloch, MD, says that this combination of social support, organization, and education is precisely what is needed to help physicians, nurses and other allied health professionals (AHP) provide quality care to their patients.

"This Actionplan is precisely the sort of disease prevention tool I would recommend to members of my ACO," says Dr. Bloch. "We know that tracking health goals is easier when patients have strong connections with their community and with health experts. Not only does this Actionplan cover one of the most important health milestones of childhood, it connects patients with a group of supporters, so that there's never a reason to forget or miss a vaccination again. Physicians and AHPs who recommend this Actionplan will be able to deliver strong, well-documented standards of preventable care, and families who use it will be empowered by its support."

In coming weeks, Fitango will unveil several more preventative Actionplans that help Americans to be proactive partners in their own health. To further its goals of transforming American health by advocating prevention, Fitango will be offering these Actionplans (normally a $5.00 value per plan) for only $4.00 each until May 6.
