"Health care coverage today too often focuses on individuals after they're sick. We take a different approach," said Martin Watson, CEO of SeeChange Health. "Our emphasis is on early detection of serious conditions through innovative tools and programs. This mission is a natural fit for the Kellogg Foundation, an organization that has long fostered creativity in health care with an emphasis on prevention."

In large part due to its wellness-centric approach to medical coverage, SeeChange Health Insurance is the fastest-growing health plan for small employers in California and Colorado. SeeChange Health Solutions offers a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform to health plans and self-funded employers delivering highly customized benefit designs and incentive programs aimed at motivating employees to improve their health. Over 1.2 million members are on the SeeChange Health Solutions platform.

SeeChange Health will use the investment from the Kellogg Foundation to accelerate ongoing product development aimed at engaging individuals in prevention and managing their own health. In alignment with the Kellogg Foundation's emphasis on children's health, among the initiatives SeeChange Health will accelerate are those aimed at encouraging healthier behavior among children.

Tony Berkley, WKKF's director of Mission Driven Investing, said, "SeeChange Health has demonstrated that health care can be affordable for employers and employees when the focus is on prevention of chronic diseases that are sweeping across our country and especially affect low-income families. We're confident that this investment will advance our mission to improve the health and well-being of vulnerable children and families, as well as set a new standard for the health care industry."
