Back to School: School Districts Scramble to Comply with Anti-Bullying Laws Before Schools Open

New Programs from America's Anti-Bullying Coach Travis Brown Helps Educators Implement Safe Learning Environments

INDIANAPOLIS, Aug. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — As students prepare for classes, school administrators are scratching their heads trying to devise anti-bullying programs mandated by each of the 50 state legislatures for K-12.

A new program called "MOJO UP Anti-Bullying Program (Tool Kit)" offers a complete, turnkey solution that complies with all aspects of anti-bullying programs so school districts can create safe learning environments that foster Positive Behavioral Intervention Systems (PBIS).

"Schools are struggling to develop policies and to educate staff, students, parents, faculty and volunteers," said Travis Brown, known as "Mr. Mojo" who consults and speaks at more than 250 schools, to administrators, parents, teachers and students each year in the U.S. and Canada.  "States like my home state of Indiana have told school districts they must have anti-bullying programs, but they didn't tell them how to develop or implement them. They left out the specifics. School districts have to fill in the details and they don't know where to turn."

Brown also announced he is expanding his consulting practice  ) to help school districts in Indiana and across the nation create tailor-made anti-bullying policies, programs and training materials.

"MOJO UP Anti-Bullying Program (Tool Kit) provides everything that state legislatures require to comply with new laws. It is a no brainer for people once they see it," said Brown, who has been interviewed on CNN, Headline News and on MTV Made to discuss bullying issues. "And the legislators made it even harder to comply since there is a very short time line before kids are back in school. Schools need to act quickly."

The newly revised MOJO UP Anti-Bullying Program (Tool Kit), which has been the blueprint for hundreds of school districts in all 50 states, includes:

  • Information on how to meet state legislation
  • Step-by-step instructions
  • Cut and paste information on policies, guidelines, forms, reports and policies
  • Checklists for incident reports, parent reports, student information and intervention information
  • Intervention Plans for the bully and the bullied
  • Training materials for teachers, staff, parents and volunteers
  • Checklist for what needs to be on the website.
  • Suicide prevention information

To help school districts Mr. Mojo is offering two free resources:
