In addition to partnering with NYC Rescue Mission in food giveaway, restaurant situated in financial district is pleased to announce the addition of Head Chef Philliberto Jimenez to their top-notch culinary team

NEW YORK, Feb. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Blue Planet Grill owner Jacob Krumgalz today announced the restaurant's contribution of hot soup to the New York City Rescue Mission. "We at Blue Planet Grill are grateful to help those in need this cold winter season. By donating Winter Borcht Soup we hope to warm both the bodies and hearts of New York's most destitute." The mission, which provides spiritual hope, food, shelter, and clothing to the needy since 1872, is a well deserving cause, says Jacob, and they hope to partner with them on an on-going basis.

"We couldn't help but be touched by the number of people who come to the rescue mission, hungry and in need of a good meal. Sometimes a warm soup or meal can be just the thing someone needs to keep going. We are thrilled to be able to help, in even that small capacity. It's important for the NY restaurants to band together, giving all they can to help the city's hungry citizens who need help. We challenge all the restaurants in the financial district to donate to the mission in whatever capacity they can. Know it will make a big difference in the lives of our fellow New Yorkers."

Jacob also announced, "The Blue Planet Grill or BPG is extremely pleased to announce that Sous-Chef Philliberto Jimenez from famed 'River Cafe' Restaurant has now joined our passionate and devoted Culinary Team. At BPG we take a lot of pride in providing our customers with fresh and exceptional quality products, so we are indeed thrilled and really excited to have Chef Philliberto as a new executive Chef of Blue Planet Grill."

The new restaurant in the financial district of New York City offers global fusion fare and liquid art cocktails, says Jacob. "This comfortable spot is destined to be a local favorite, for the food and liquid art cocktails like the Poquito Picante and Red Finance. Cocktails are designed by Artemio Vasquez of Pegu and PDT fame, renowned libation expert, for a delectable treat of fresh ingredients and unique homemade infusions with each signature drink. Classics include the Moscow Mule made with homemade ginger beer and the Whisky Smash, and do not miss Artemio's signature Poquito Picante, made with gin, jalapeno, cucumber and cilantro."
