Principal Photography Completed on Original Pilot 'PIMP-24/7' (Working Title)

Television Pilot, Starring Gary Sturgis, Antwon Tanner and Coley Speaks, Takes a Daring Look at Pimp Life

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 29, 2009 — Principal photography has wrapped in Los Angeles on an urban drama about the life of a street pimp. "PIMP-24/7" (tentative title), is a new one-hour series pilot starring Gary Sturgis (Daddy's Little Girls), Antwon Tanner (One Tree Hill) and newcomer Coley Speaks. It was directed by award-winning director Alton Glass, written by Curtis Elerson of One Shot Films, and produced by Shannon W. Rawls of Cinema Hill Motion Picture Company.

Tommy Davidson (In Living Color), Trae Ireland (Zane's Sex Chronicles), Shawn Richardz and Ken Lawson (The Parkers) round out the cast in this riveting, sophisticated drama which centers on a well-spoken, educated street pimp who lives undetected by his suburban neighbors, while trying to protect his young nephews who are quickly becoming drawn into the procuring lifestyle. "We are going to be doing something edgy, real and different. You will see the real-life challenges that come with this lifestyle – including those that come from attempting to keep family-life trials and tribulations in check. It's not about cliche seventies pimps with perms and 'gators. This is real life … and no one brings more passion to the role of Angel than everyone's favorite bad guy, Gary Sturgis," says writer/creator Curtis Elerson when discussing how "PIMP-24/7" differs from other shows or documentaries about the business of pandering.

With the help of co-producer Tony Bracy, it is anticipated that "PIMP-24/7" will go into acquisition talks with broadcast and cable networks as well as international providers as early as March 2009.
