Polish Startup Kontakt Debuts White Label Bluetooth Low Energy Kit to Spur Innovation Beyond Retail

White label BLE kit aims to inspire a new niche of developers to create innovative applications in tourism, education, healthcare and security.

KRAKOW, Poland, Nov. 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Hot on the heels of retail-focused Estimote, Poland-based Kontakt is set to launch the first white-label BLE solution to enable developers and businesses from different industries to build fully customized experiences from the ground up.

Kontakt believes that current BLE solutions limit the use of the technology to retail applications, and neglect the massive potential it has in many other areas, especially in the areas of healthcare, tourism and education.

CEO Szymon explains: "The possibilities of BLE go beyond retail; we expect tourist sites, hospitals & pharmacies, shopping malls, schools & campuses and a whole lot of other healthcare, gaming, and business applications to be developed using our kits. Even systems such as security and geo-fencing are possible, and shouldn't be deprived of BLE technology."

Kontakt brings to the table a series of fully customizable hardware and software kits to help developers and businesses of all kinds customize and build experiences from scratch. Unsurprisingly, the 8-month-old startup has already sold several thousand beacons to developers all over the world, and has also received multiple bulk orders for their white label solutions.

"The demand and interest we have received speaks for itself," said Szymon. "The greatest challenge now is to customize even further such that each experience becomes remarkably individual and relevant."

Kontakt has begun experimenting with 3D printers to create customized beacons of different shapes and forms for a small group of customers.

"We are thrilled to be part of the development of BLE and we are holding nothing back. Our goal is to give the ultimate in freedom of expression, and neither our hardware nor our software will be designed to hold you back," Szymon sums up.

Kontakt's BLE kits start from $99, and each kit comes with the software development kit which Kontakt says takes less than 1 hour to set up.
