Limited Edition Whimsical Rubber Ducks Hit the Water for Christmas
SAN RAFAEL, Calif., Sept. 19, 2007 — CelebriDucks, the original creator of the first-ever celebrity rubber ducks of the greatest icons of film, music, athletics and history, has just released their new PMS Duck. Wearing a pink shirt with a circle/slash PMS logo, a chocolate bar in one hand, a bottle of aspirin in her robe, and holding a printed cup of coffee that says, "I Don't Do Mornings," the Duck's creator, Dianne Bump, remarked: "It's pretty much a fun solution to a bad day! … You may have found yourself using PMS as an excuse for irritability. Now you don't have to – let the PMS duck do it for you."
The company, which is best known for their line of celebrity ducks including The Wizard of Oz, Elvis Presley, Bill Clinton, and KISS, among hundreds of others, was approached by Dianne, one of their clients, to help her design this whimsical creation. Upon discovering that there were over 200 symptoms associated with PMS, it just seemed natural to Dianne to come up with a humorous way to take a nice relaxing warm bath, have a bit of chocolate, and confess her troubles to the duck while they relaxed together in the tub. She reasoned that at the very least it was cheaper than therapy!
So far she is discovering that a lot of people feel like she does as people are rapidly scooping up these little quackers. What isn't yet clear is who is buying more of them – men or women!
At the same time, CelebriDucks is releasing their American Heroes line beginning with exquisitely detailed Fireman and Policeman rubber ducks that are also being used to raise funds for police and firefighter organizations. The company created a Tropical Parrot, complete with Hawaiian shirt and shades, for The Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville Cafes, and successfully sells their Blues Brothers ducks at all House of Blues venues nationwide. They also recently broke new ground by creating the world's first-ever floating Pink Flamingo, which debuted at The Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas.
CelebriDucks has produced ducks for the NBA, Major League Baseball, the NHL, Collegiate Mascots, and NASCAR. The company has pioneered a whole new collectible and to date their ducks have appeared on numerous TV shows, including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, CBS Evening Magazine, and Late Night with Conan O'Brien. CelebriDucks were voted one of the top 100 gifts of 2001 by Entertainment Weekly.
