Patient Recruitment Expert CSS Tapped to Host Master Workshop and Roundtable Discussions at Annual SCRS Site Solutions Summit Conference in October

The "Keeping up with the Changing Recruitment and Retention Environment" workshop will address strategies in meeting sometimes difficult patient recruitment and retention goals

GLEN BURNIE, Md., Sept. 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Clinical Site Services (CSS), the leader in global patient recruitment and enrollment solutions for the clinical research industry, is pleased to announce their participation in the annual Site Solutions Summit sponsored by the Society for Clinical Research Sites.

Now in its 8th year, the Site Solutions Summit is an annual conference dedicated to helping clinical research sites reach optimal performance and achieve success. The Summit will be held October 11-13 in Amelia Island, Florida, and will host an array of workshops, roundtables, and networking opportunities focusing on "fresh strategies for remarkable performance" – the theme to this year's conference. As a Global Impact Partner of the SCRS, CSS will be hosting a Master Workshop, leading roundtable discussions as well as exhibiting information on their innovative approach to patient recruitment and enrollment solutions.

The CSS Master Workshop on October 11, titled, "Keeping up with the Changing Recruitment and Retention Environment," will be hosted by CSS President, Chris Trizna and Vice President, Jennifer Whitlock. For the third year, SCRS has asked CSS to lend their expertise in this area, as timely patient recruitment continues to be a challenge expressed by most investigative sites. The workshop will focus on how difficult protocols and competitive enrollment add up to potential difficulty in meeting patient recruitment and retention goals. Trizna explains, "We want to address how each site can arm themselves with the right plan of action, strategies and tactics to consistently enroll their studies."

"Our workshop is designed so that attendees will come away with solutions they can implement immediately," shared Trizna. "For example, helping them to understand the importance of the 'patient pathway' for each study and also the constantly evolving world of online media are two topics we will explore."

Ryan Haynes, Director of CSS's Site Management Solutions division, will also be hosting a roundtable discussion, titled, "Sizzle or Steak: What do Sponsors/CROs look for in sites?" This interactive round table will be co-led by representatives from an industry-leading CRO and a top executive from a pharmaceutical company.

Haynes further explains, "Being involved with sponsor and CRO programs who rely on us for our patient recruitment solutions, CSS has a keen understanding of what these companies are seeking when they go into site selection. This roundtable will help sites learn best practices to make them a 'site of choice' in the eyes of sponsors and CROs."

Mr. Trizna has also been invited to be a panelist on the roundtable discussion, titled, "Managing Across Generations: Baby Boomers, Millennials, & Generation X and Y." Trizna shared, "Today's clinical trials must be approached with a specific attention to where and how potential participants can be reached. Each of these generations, or audiences, need to examined separately and thoroughly to determine the best course of action. They all have unique motivating factors, different media habits and challenges to participation."

The Site Solutions Summit began in 2006 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Less than a dozen sites attended, but the idea of creating a place and voice for sites was much needed. Those same sites have been present at each Summit since, and attendance has nearly reached 600 and continues to grow each year – attracting both sites and sponsors/CROs, and providing sites the business intelligence that impacts their bottom line and future growth.  To learn more or to attend the 2013 Site Solutions Summit, visit www.SiteSolutionsSummit.com.
