Parenting Resource Site Kid Pointz Appoints Musings of a Housewife's Jo-Lynne Shane as Positive Parenting Blogger After National Search

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Kid Pointz, a website that provides relevant resources, advice and tools for parents to help with a wide range of behavior challenges, has named Jo-Lynne Shane of "Musings of a Housewife" the next Kid Pointz blogger. In a targeted national search, Kid Pointz invited a handful of qualified mom bloggers to write about a variety of topics under the theme of positive parenting.

"The goal of our national search was to creatively engage with influential mom and parenting bloggers," said Marty Goodman, founder of Kid Pointz. "This search for the next Kid Pointz blogger enabled us to personally communicate to each of the qualified bloggers we identified, introduce them to the Kid Pointz brand, and together work to spread the word about the importance of positive parenting."

In addition to an esteemed team of judges from Kid Pointz, two third-party judges were invited to evaluate all of the entries including Editor-in-Chief of Mothering Magazine, Peggy O'Mara, and Linda Sorkin, a family therapist and life coach based in San Diego.

"Since Kid Pointz was developed by a team of child-behavior experts, parents and teachers to create a variety of printable behavior charts and an online points and reward system, it was important to work with these two outside experts to assist us in selecting a blogger who would be a good fit for the Kid Pointz brand and able to write on topics relevant to the Kid Pointz site members and users," Goodman said.

"I am honored and delighted to be chosen as the next Kid Pointz blogger," said Shane. "Parenting is a work in progress as children grow and change, and I'm always looking for new ideas to help me along this parenting journey as I strive to raise confident, productive kids. I look forward to implementing these positive parenting techniques and rewards systems in our home and sharing my experiences with Kid Pointz readers."

Shane is based in Philadelphia and will begin blogging for the Kid Pointz "Oh Behave" blog this fall. In addition to becoming a paid Kid Pointz blogger, she also will receive an all-expenses paid conference sponsorship for 2012/2013 and her winning blog post will be published on the Mothering Magazine website.

Goodman adds, "The reason we selected Jo-Lynne to be the next Kid Pointz blogger is we felt like she personalized the positive parenting message in a meaningful way. Plus, she has a lot of authority to talk about positive parenting having once been a third-grade teacher and now a mom of three active kids. We are looking forward to working with her!"
