This year's theme is "PeriAnesthesia Nurses: Caring Every Step of the Way," and the American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN), in conjunction with its 40 chartered components, will recognize the extraordinary work its nurses perform throughout the year. This includes caring for patients through the entire continuum surrounding surgical, diagnostic, and interventional procedures requiring anesthesia, sedation, and analgesia. Approximately 40 million anesthetics are administered in the U.S. each year.
