No-Fault Arbitrations Go Electronic: eLaw and National Arbitration Forum Bring Internet Solution to NJ

NEWARK, N.J., April 6, 2004 — eLaw, LLC announced they have entered into a business relationship with the National Arbitration Forum of Minneapolis, Minnesota, to provide an electronic Internet based alternative to the filing and managing of No-Fault Arbitration claims in New Jersey.

"On January 26, 2004, the State of New Jersey awarded the National Arbitration Forum (NAF) a three-year contract to administer arbitrations for No-Fault Insurance Personal Injury Protection (PIP) disputes under the state's Automobile Insurance Cost Reduction Act of 1998. Under the New Jersey contract, NAF will administer more than 20,000 cases per year, adding to its growing national caseload," stated Jerry Krivitzky, Chairman and CEO of eLaw, LLC. "One of the deciding factors in awarding the contract to NAF is their understanding and deployment of technology to improve the experience for all involved parties. We have developed a solution for all types of legal disputes. The people at NAF recognize that applying it to No-Fault arbitrations is both appropriate and straight forward."

"As one of only a few national ADR administrators, NAF administers a number of dispute resolution services to many parties seeking alternatives to litigation. Introducing this new opportunity demonstrates our continuing commitment to provide the highest level of service to our user community, and to parties big and small," reported Ed Anderson, CEO of the National Arbitration Forum.

"eLaw will be employing its eServe systems to enable electronic access and distribution of filings with NAF as well as electronic service directly upon participating Insurance carriers. eServe users will distribute legal documents for less money, with less hassle and in less time," added Ed Denne, COO eLaw, LLC

The go-live date for both NAF and for the eFiling alternative managed by eLaw is April 16. Both companies are hosting an information session and conference on the new procedures and related No-Fault arbitration issues on Thursday April 8 at 1:00 pm, Holiday Inn, Davidson Road, Somerset. All practitioners and Insurance representatives who participate in this field are invited to attend. There is no cost and no prior registration.
