Mindstream to develop Brilliant High Schools
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Feb. 5, 2010 — Veteran education entrepreneur, Mark F. Thimmig, who founded Mavericks in Education in 2007, opening four Mavericks High Schools last year with enrollment in excess of 1,400 students, has formed a new education consulting firm. Mindstream, LLC will assist all types of education institutions and industry suppliers worldwide, along with an initiative to continue his vision of providing groundbreaking education alternatives to high school-age students. Thimmig, who left Mavericks in December 2009 but continues to hold partial ownership, is now CEO and Chairman of Mindstream, LLC (http://www.mindstreameducation.com).
"Mindstream will provide advisory services at all levels of the K-20 education sector on a worldwide basis," explained Thimmig. "Our leadership team has significant experience in school design, development and operations across traditional and online delivery models. Mindstream consulting services will be focused on such issues as helping high school at-risk and dropout students succeed, improving school operations, building enrollment and increasing student retention, analyzing curriculum delivery and performance as well as providing marketing and communications, staff development, human resources, and technology management and innovation.
Mindstream will also develop and manage a new high school model to operate under the name Brilliant High Schools(TM), http://www.brillianthigh.com, for launch in Florida. These innovative, high tech schools will serve the growing student population who has not been successful in a traditional school setting. The Brilliant High School model may be applied in other states or countries as a contract school, school-in-a-school, charter school or private school. The Brilliant design is highly scalable, fiscally efficient and very flexible in its use of facilities.
