Members able to document their thoughts for posterity on current events like the inauguration of Barack Obama
BROOKINGS, S.D., Jan. 21, 2009 — Talario, LLC yesterday launched The Million People Project, an online community time capsule. The Million People Project will document for its members and posterity the individual thoughts, perspectives, comments, personal histories, and collective opinions of people at any one moment in history - a publicly visible time capsule that is continually being constructed by its community of members.
“We are at an intriguing point in history,” said Tim Aughenbaugh, Founder and CEO of Talario, LLC. “We live at a moment when the world was first connected in real time. We live among people who were born long before the advent of many modern conveniences, as well as those who have never lived in a world without them. The Project was developed to enable personal time capsules of the thoughts and interactions of all of those people - both for their own later enjoyment, as well as for posterity.”
The Million People Project will capture people’s thoughts, comments, and opinions for their personal use and for the public record. Content is viewable by any visitor at the site, but a small annual membership is charged to contribute to the Project. This fee to host the records is meant to insure that the project will sustain itself for generations and generations to come.
