Michigan State University Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management Receives Esteemed Award

Now students worldwide can learn from MSUs top-ranked professors through 100% online courses.

TAMPA, Fla., Jan. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Michigan State University (MSU) faculty member Tobias Schoenherr was recently awarded the MSU Teacher-Scholar award, recognizing the quality and skill of his teaching in the university's top-ranked Supply Chain Management (SCM) program. In addition to on-campus teaching, Schoenherr teaches in MSU's new 100% online Supply Chain Management certificate programs. Through the convenience and flexibility of online learning, students around the globe can now benefit from Schoenherr's expertise.

"Tobias Schoenherr is one of only six recipients of this prestigious award, which recognizes teachers who earn the respect of both their students and colleagues," said Dr. David Closs, John H. McConnell Chaired Professor of Business Administration and Chairperson of the Department of Supply Chain Management, Broad College of Business. "MSU's Supply Chain Management program is top ranked because of our skilled and devoted faculty, who provide each student an outstanding learning experience."

The Teacher-Scholar awards will be presented on February 12, 2013 at MSU's Awards Convocation.

Schoenherr is also the co-author of a recent study that found U.S. firms are increasingly "reshoring" their manufacturing operations, or moving them from overseas locations back to U.S. soil. This further demonstrates how this award-winning researcher remains on the cutting edge of SCM, and how students can benefit from his comprehensive knowledge and experience.

Schoenherr teaches the Strategic Sourcing course offered through MSU's online certificate programs in Supply Chain Management. The program is designed to provide working professionals everywhere the opportunity to improve their knowledge, gain in-demand skills and advance their careers. Participants in all of MSU's Supply Chain Management certificate programs benefit from access to the same top-ranked faculty as on-campus students, with the convenience of dynamic, video-based e-learning.

MSU's Broad College of Business has partnered with University Alliance (UA) to offer online Master Certificates in Supply Chain Management in Logistics, Operations, Procurement or Integrated Supply Chain Management, plus an Advanced Master Certificate in Integrated Supply Chain Management. MSU also offers four additional online certificate programs:

Participating professionals enjoy the prestige of earning credentials from top-ranked MSU, while gaining a thorough understanding of integrated supply chain management and essential skills for today's competitive global marketplace.
