RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif., Dec. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Melissa Batalles will return to the Coachella Valley to sing the National Anthem to open the Champion Honors Luncheon on January 17th, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort and Conference Center. The luncheon benefits the Barbara Sinatra Center for Abused Children.

Following her appearance at the Champion Honors Luncheon, Miss Batalles will perform a leading role in The Magic Flute for the West Bay Opera in San Francisco.
Ms. Batalles, who took "Audience Favorite" honors twice at the McCallum Theater's Open Call competition and was named best female vocalist by Desert Theater League, has gone on to tour as featured soloist with Crystal Cruises Serenity Annual Pops Concert, and appeared in a special West Side Story suite with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra.
Mr. Bud Selig, Commissioner of Major League Baseball, will be the Keynote Speaker at the Sinatra Center event, at which Jackie Autry, Honorary President of the American League and a Children's Center Board Member will also be honored. In addition to Commissioner Selig and Mrs. Autry, other baseball luminaries including a number of current Major League Baseball owners, executives and former ball players have been invited by Major League Baseball and are anticipated to attend.
