MedAptus Integrates Its Point-of-Care Charge Capture with Powerful Clinical Applications

Company Shows Expanded Solution Suite at TEPR 2005

BOSTON, May 12, 2005 — MedAptus today announced that attendees at the 2005 Towards an Electronic Patient Record (TEPR) Conference & Exhibition, May 16 – 18 in Salt Lake City, will be among the first healthcare professionals to see its newest point-of-care technology offerings.

MedAptus’ flagship application, electronic charge capture, has experienced enthusiastic adoption by forward-thinking physicians and administrators nationwide. This technology cornerstone has been met with high physician adoption and has also provided MedAptus customers with significant organizational revenue improvements. These successes prompted the company to augment the offering with a number of clinically-oriented modules.

"By expanding our suite to include fully integrated clinical applications, MedAptus is helping its customers to achieve significant improvements financially, and now clinically, in terms of processes and outcomes. We view this as enabling our customers to connect their financial goals to physicians’ clinical needs and the well-being of patients," said Dennis Mitchell, president and CEO of MedAptus. "In other words, we are charting a course for organizations who want technologies like electronic records but cannot commit their resources to multi-year, multi-million dollar expenditures for full system implementations."

The MedAptus solution suite, including its new clinical modules, will be demonstrated in TEPR booth 111.

In addition to unveiling its new offerings, MedAptus, along with world-renowned Lahey Clinic Medical Center, located in Burlington, Massachusetts, and the very first MedAptus customer, will be speaking at TEPR 2005.

Linda Cagle, senior vice president of clinical services at Lahey, along with David Delaney, MD, vice president for business development at MedAptus, will co-present "Radically Streamline Your Charge Capture: Lahey Clinic Case Study" on Monday, May 16 at 9:00 AM. This presentation will highlight the successes and challenges of transforming the physician charge capture process from paper to digital. In addition, Lahey’s impressive financial return on investment (ROI) will be presented, as well as the analysis that was undertaken to assess ROI.
