WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif., May 22, 2012 — As Matthew Ziff's star continues to rise in Hollywood, fans may be surprised to learn that the big screen favorite also boasts talents of Olympic proportions. Ziff, recently cast to co-star with Michael Biehn in Blancbiehn Productions' thriller Treachery, has been selected from hundreds of players nationwide to participate in the Olympic Expo Quidditch Games. Representing Team USA, Ziff will play "beater" at Cutteslowe Park in Oxford, England on July 8 against national teams from the UK, Australia and France.
"I am honored to be selected as a member of this elite group of incredible players," Ziff comments. "It will be a busy summer between playing in the Expo and working on Treachery, but I'm up for the challenge. It's amazing to be associated with this kind of Olympic talent while also co-starring with the likes of such gifted actors as Michael Biehn."
Ziff's trip across the pond dovetails with yet another summer milestone. Hardflip, in which Ziff plays opposite John Schneider and Rosanna Arquette, opens June 1.
Ziff honed his quidditch credentials at the University of Miami, where his modeling and acting career also gained momentum. The Olympic Expo Quidditch Games, supported in part by the International Quidditch Association, matches the best teams in the world to play the Harry Potter-inspired sport that compels young people to lead physically active and socially engaged lives. In Treachery, a movie by Blancbiehn Productions, Ziff plays "Nathan," a nice guy who is seeking approval from his father, "Henry" (Biehn). Their troubled relationship darkens and the plot thickens after the two are forced, along with other key characters, to spend a stormy weekend alone in a cabin.

Though still under 25, Ziff is an entertainment veteran of more than 20 years. He began modeling at two months and by age 10 had appeared on both Late Night with David Letterman and Late Night with Conan O'Brien. He has filmed eight movies, with four more in production, and has been cast in films with veteran actors such as Rosanna Arquette, Michael Biehn, Gary Busey, Martin Kove, Lorraine Ziff and John Schneider. Ziff is also executive producer and star of the feature film Six Gun Savior, a fantasy western.
