The Sylvia Wald & Po Kim Gallery in NYC and The Park Avenue Club in New Jersey will exhibit recent paintings
NEW YORK and VERONA, N.J., Sept. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Two juried shows are featuring new works by Marcia Gloster Ammeen who after a long hiatus has returned to her first love, painting.

The 124th Annual Exhibition of members of the National Association of Women Artists, Inc. (www.thenawa.org) is exhibiting Gloster Ammeen's Beach at Goa at the Sylvia Wald & Po Kim Gallery (www.waldandkimgallery.org), 417 Lafayette Street, 4th Floor, in New York City from August 27 to September 28, 2013. The reception will be held on September 19.
The Park Avenue Club (www.parkavenueclub.com) at 184 Park Avenue in Florham Park, New Jersey is holding its 12th Annual Juried Exhibition of "Dark & Light," and will feature Gloster Ammeen's Namibia Dunes. The private exhibition begins September 9, 2013 and ends January 6, 2014, with the reception on September 16.
"Forty-five years ago I put my canvases and brushes aside to begin what would become a long and successful career as an art director in NYC. For all those years, I never painted." So states Marcia Gloster Ammeen who has recently completed a memoir about an artist she met in Europe when she was twenty. "In writing the book I realized he had changed my life, and 48 years later, he changed it again."
Two years ago an unexpected event occurred that reawakened long buried memories and emotions that resulted in her writing the story of that emotional summer and, while writing, she began to paint again. She is now exhibiting her paintings in juried group shows in New York and New Jersey with a one-woman show planned for the near future. She is a member of the National Association of Women Artists in NYC and Studio Montclair in NJ.
Gloster Ammeen was featured as a new artist at NAWA's recent Clothing Optional exhibit in New York City, with her painting – Rose – a young woman, nude, holding flowers whose slight and enigmatic smile carries secrets of joy, or perhaps, pain.
