"Malton Fine Art Gallery Presents "Light Matters" Collection by Abstract Expressionist Artist David Landau "

CINCINNATI, Feb. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — The prestigious Malton Gallery presents the Abstract Illumination Series by award winning self-taught artist David Landau (American, b. 1984), comprising of over 75 works, including the artist's renowned "Column of Light" installation that includes over 20 reverse painted illuminated art glass paintings. Organized by Malton Gallery owner and curator Sylvia Rombis, David Landau: Light Matters is on view in the main gallery through May 15, 2013.

As a self-taught abstract expressionist artist, David Landau has scientifically pioneered his water-based ink, mica, and vinyl painting technique over the last 13 years. These innovations have created a modern twist on the illuminated art glass tradition made famous by Louis Comfort Tiffany. Like Tiffany, each of Landau's hand painted creations are meticulously crafted explosions of color that represent nature, science, and the interconnectedness of life. Where Landau makes this genre truly his own is in its grandeur, electric palette, and understated whimsy that elicits an emotional response in every viewer. Landau's work is so well executed, yet simultaneously spontaneous: his illuminated work bridges the work of Takashi Murakami and Dale Chihuly. The work is ideal for commercial, public or residential interior spaces and can be commissioned to fit any location.
