And it seems that New Year's Eve itself can be a good time to kickstart that goal! Nearly 50% of men and women have had a one night stand on the 31st of December, proving that the festive season is, after all, a time for giving AND receiving!
There's something about kissing goodbye to the past 12 months that makes us want to kiss other people; 67% of men and women have kissed up to 3 people on NYE, and a fifth of people have gotten passionate with between 4 and 6 members of the opposite sex. Although when it comes to kissing someone of the same sex, it's women who are most likely to shed their inhibitions; 62% of them believe it's the best night to experiment.
Men, however, are more likely to want to go a little bit further with a few more people; 70% of them would be up for having group sex on what they believe to be the wildest night of the year! Sadly their enthusiasm isn't shared by women; only 38% would be up for making several new friends at once.
Most people see the traditional midnight kiss as a bit of fun; more than two thirds of us don't believe a kiss with someone other than our partner as cheating. And 83% of us would use the countdown as an excuse to finally lock lips with someone we've wanted all year! If it goes further, then we're all for it; 63% of us would most like to be in bed with someone when the clock strikes midnight. And we wouldn't regret it the next day, either; 85% of us would welcome waking up to a new year with a stranger!
So don't be shy on the 31st – if you've not cracked on to someone by the time to the countdown starts, you've only got yourself to blame!
