Macrosoft Applauds National Emergency Preparation and Testing

Developer of Resources on-Demand supports the preparation plans by Government, Corporations and Individuals

PARSIPPANY, N.J., Nov. 8, 2011 — The first nationwide test of US Emergency System occurs at 2:00 pm EST Wednesday, November 9. The date was chosen because it is near the end of hurricane season and before the severe winter weather season begins in earnest. Even so, already this season, these weather systems have resulted in the extensive use of Macrosoft's Resources on-Demand software application, assisting utilities to manage their emergency power restoration activities.

"Because there has never been an activation of the Emergency Alert System on a national level, FEMA views this test as an excellent opportunity to assess the readiness and effectiveness of the current system," said Damon Penn, FEMA's Assistant Administrator of National Continuity Programs in a press release.
