Lyoness Management Americas Honored with "Key to the County" Recognizing Business Growth in South Florida

MIAMI, Jan. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez today presented Lyoness Management Americas CEO Mario Hoffmann with a "Key to the County."

Companies honored at the Beacon Council's Key Ceremony—held this year at the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens—represented international banking and financial services, information technologies, telecommunications, professional services and manufacturing, retail loyalty programs, and others.

The significance of the ceremony this year is increased by the continuing US economic crisis and the particularly-affected Florida economy: In Miami-Dade County unemployment topped 12.6%. And although the jobless rate finally dropped below 9% in September 2012, University of Central Florida economist Sean Snaith says that although South Florida employment, "is slowly improving…the pace of the improvement continues to be inadequate." The 25 companies honored with Keys will create more than 1,800 new direct jobs, retain 316 jobs, create an additional more than 900 indirect jobs, and property taxes estimated to exceed $5,686,300.

Lyoness Management Americas CEO Mario Hoffmann says, "Miami is an international business hub and the clear choice to support expansion of our business in North and South America. We're hiring local talent from the University of Miami and Florida International University; and because we are an international company, we are especially excited by the talent pool of multi-lingual professionals we have in Miami!"

Joaquin Zeledon, Managing Director for Lyoness Management Americas says, "We are enjoying our participation in the South Florida business community and look forward to providing whatever service we can to the community."

Lyoness Management Americas Marketing Director Myrna Y. Vaca says, "Lyoness anticipates filling more than 280 positions in our Miami office. This means new capital investment to the South Florida economy of approximately $4,500,000."
