LWG Restoration Introduces Post-Disaster Preservative for Electronic Equipment

NORTHBROOK, Ill., Nov. 27, 2006 — LWG Restoration unveiled a corrosion retardant for circuit boards and electronic components that have been exposed to water or smoke. In the wake of a disaster, such corrosion poses the greatest threat to critical equipment such as medical, communications and data processing systems. Arresting this destructive process prior to restoration has previously proven to be a major challenge.

Early application of the corrosion inhibitor dramatically improves the effectiveness of restoration. This allows the time to effectively evaluate repair or replacement options and enhances the salvage value of damaged equipment. The combination of the preservative and LWG's decontamination processes minimizes business interruption and helps firms maintain business continuity throughout their disaster recovery effort. "The innovation of an electronic preservative will greatly improve our ability to stabilize equipment following a catastrophe or peril. Our Restoration group did an excellent job developing a technique that I have not seen before in this industry," remarked Mark Ewing, LWG's Director of Complex Loss.

Since 1984, LWG's post-disaster technical solutions have helped businesses and commercial property insurers save money and time on over 50,000 claims. LWG has fifteen offices across the U.S. and Canada. Please visit for more information and services provided by LWG.
