Lions & Tigers & Ducks, Oh My! … Limited Edition 'Wizard of Oz' Rubber Ducks Hit the Water for Christmas

SAN RAFAEL, Calif., Oct. 11, 2006 — CelebriDucks, the original creator of the first-ever celebrity rubber ducks of the greatest icons of film, music, athletics and history, has just released a complete set of "Wizard of Oz" rubber ducks. But they aren't stopping there. Along with Dorothy, the Tin Man, Scarecrow, and Lion, they are also releasing James Dean, The Pink Panther, their "Bath of the Penguins" floating Emperor Penguin, and Elvis Presley in black leather. (Their first-edition Elvis in Vegas attire quickly sold out.)

Noting that it's always five o'clock somewhere, CelebriDucks has created a new Tropical Parrot, complete with Hawaiian shirt and shades, which will debut at the Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville Cafes this winter. The company has already been successfully selling their Blues Brothers ducks at all House of Blues outlets nationwide.

CelebriDucks is also breaking new ground having created the world's first floating Pink Flamingo. A formal event to celebrate its debut is scheduled for late fall at The Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas. Craig Wolfe, CelebriDucks' president, remarked, "I just have this feeling that today's Pink Flamingo is tomorrow's rubber duck. We broke boundaries by doing ducks of famous people, and since the Flamingo is such an icon, I can easily see it being right up there with the traditional yellow duck in bathtubs, pools, and hot tubs."

CelebriDucks has produced ducks for the NBA, Major League Baseball, the NHL and NASCAR. The company has created over 200 different characters, such as Shakespeare, Carmen Miranda, Mae West, James Brown, KISS, Mr. T, Bill Clinton, and Collegiate Mascots. The company has pioneered a whole new collectible and to date their ducks have appeared on numerous TV shows, including "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "Evening Magazine" (CBS), and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." CelebriDucks were voted one of the top 100 gifts of 2001 by Entertainment Weekly.
