FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., Feb. 10, 2009 — Specifically written for the unlikely occurrence in February of 2009 when Friday the 13th slides directly into Valentine’s Day, up and coming musician-author Don Endriss has released his first novel, “13 Valentines,” a quirky, unpredictable love stalker story full of: onion farms, whacked-out characters, mesmerizing suspense and rollicking fun. It’s everything you’d expect when Friday the 13th collides with Valentine’s Day.
Endriss seizes this opportunity to serve up one of the most memorable female characters imaginable. Just as funny as she is scary, she becomes obsessed with a man whose idea of beautifying Miami is to cover municipal garbage trucks with painted-on plants … a man she’s dreamed of for thirty-one years. When he meets she, it’s as crazy as they both sound.
If you’re looking for a fast, fun read that will keep you guessing, laughing and wanting more, order “13 Valentines” now:
Maria hurries over to the rack and starts looking through all the different newspapers that are stuffed into the newsstand. She shouts to the clerk, “I actually need to find a story that happened around two or three days ago in Miami.”
The clerk says, “Well, those kinds of older newspapers would be out there in the dumpster.” The clerk smiles and says, “And as you can probably see for yourself,” the clerk turns his body and points outside to the parking lot, “that’s the garbage truck right there, picking up our trash as we speak.”
As Maria turns to look outside, she sees a garbage truck that’s emptying a dumpster over by the side of the parking lot, and it’s slamming the “empty” dumpster back on to the ground. She rushes towards the exit, and when she makes it out the door, the garbage truck has already begun to pull away.
Maria starts screaming for the truck to stop, but the garbage men are too busy talking to each other and don’t hear her shouting as they speed off down the street.
Terror fills Maria’s eyes as she runs up to the dumpster and looks over the top edge. At first glance, it seems that the dumpster is empty of trash. But on the bottom near the back of the dumpster, she spots a crushed newspaper packed into the corner. This crushed newspaper is being held in place by some mystery dumpster liquid. She doesn’t know what city it’s from, but this is her only shot, and this opportunity might not present itself again.
