iUniverse Hosts Canadian Storytellers, Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Advocate for BookExpo America 2009 Book Signings

NEW YORK, May 28, 2009 — iUniverse, the leading provider of self-publishing and marketing services for authors around the globe, is hosting Canadian storytellers Elisabeth Richards and Bruce Lord, and cystic fibrosis awareness advocate Margarete Cassalina, at a pair of free book signings Saturday, May 30 at BookExpo America 2009 in New York. The signings will take place in the BEA Autographing Area, located on the first level of the Jacob K. Javits Center.

Lord and Richards, co-authors of Humpty Dumpty Was Pushed (iUniverse, 2008), will sign free copies Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Table 27 in the BEA Autographing Area. Humpty Dumpty Was Pushed is a series of surprising tales that incorporate characters from popular children’s literature and folklore. Each story asks a question and offers a surprising, offbeat answer. A recipient of iUniverse Star, Editor’s Choice, and Rising Star designations, Humpty Dumpty Was Pushed has become a popular title among school-aged children across Canada.

Cassalina’s memoir, Beyond Breathing (iUniverse, 2009), is a heart-wrenching story about life with and the loss of her daughter Jean Marie, who battled cystic fibrosis. During her journey, Cassalina learns that lessons emanate from her children, and rediscovers the beauty of living and the power of love. Along with her husband Marc, Cassalina actively raises awareness and funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The Cassalinas have dedicated their lives to finding a cure for this fatal genetic disease.
