Interior Design Industry Poised For Rebound During 2014

DENVER, Jan. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Design Success University's 2014 Interior Design Fee & Salary Survey revealed that interior designers expect the industry to grow during the next twelve months. The free eBook is available for immediate download.

Yet, the median income for interior designers was $40,000 in 2013 which was 20% below the US Median Income. In spite of the dismal earnings of interior designers, DSU's Chief Vision Officer, Gail Doby, ASID, said that designers are optimistic about 2014, but they are still dissatisfied with their results.

  • 92.9% enjoy the work of being an interior designer.
  • 80.3% enjoy the work of being a business owner.
  • 67.8% are satisfied with their level of success which is up significantly from 20% in 2012.
  • 38.6% want more time off in 2014.
  • 58.3% are dissatisfied with their income – for good reason.

New data revealed in the 2014 Interior Design Fee & Salary Survey eBook shows 10 key strategies that celebrity and high-earning designers use to market their businesses, achieve success and earn six figure incomes. That's why the new survey eBook filled with strategies to improve business results is so unique.

Gail Doby, Co-founder of Design Success University said, "56.5% of interior designers earned less than $45,000. Discovering new strategies that financially successful designers use to earn six-figure+ incomes can transform how other designers approach their businesses to achieve higher incomes and more satisfaction with their careers. Interior designers can 'peek behind the curtain' to discover the reasons why celebrity and high-earning designers have been so successful.  This book is the first step a designer should take to change their results – and it is free."
